Our Motivation to Help You and Your Loved Ones
Our homes started in 1997 as Jewell Assisted Living, an alternative to nursing homes and large, impersonal residential care facilities. As of 2007, the homes are under the local ownership of Dr. George Rossie. Dr. Rossie is a Denver neuropsychologist, specializing in the diagnosis and rehabilitative treatment of brain injury and disease.
Dr. Rossie became very intersted in small, alternative assisted living facilities after trying to find the right care facility for his elderly aunt, Catherine, for whom he was the primary caregiver. When Catherine was no longer capable of living alone, she tried several nursing homes. These met her physical needs, but did not provide adequate attention and interaction. Dr. Rossie and Catherine found that a small residential care facility possessed all the elements of home and provided the necessary suppport services to give the family peace of mind. Dr. Rossie's clinical work with dementia and stroke patients led to in-depth study of this aspect of senior care. Dr. Rossie previously owned and operated a group living home specifically for people with brain injuries. The positive results that came from these experiences led to Dr. Rossie's passion to provide quality care to seniors.
Our Philosophy of Care
We know that many people prefer a small, home-like setting with a familiar group of people and thrive in the increased interaction and support it offers. With the small number of residents and the high staff ratio in each home, we can assure that we fulfill the personal and social needs of each person we serve.
At Jewell Assisted Living and Lansing Assisted Living, we offer warm, personalized care in a service-rich environment. Because of the high staff-to-resident ratio, the freedom to pursue individual interests and continue unique daily routines is nurtured. Both residents and their loved ones may be secure in the knowledge that caring, well-trained staff are available on-site 24 hours per day.
Safe, personal, and high-quality assisted living preserves dignity and enables the utmost use of physical and mental capabilities.
At Jewell Assisted Living and Lansing Assisted Living, a continuum of care is offered so that, if it is the resident's wish, he or she may remain in the home through to the end of life.
All our employees are fluent in English, and many are bi-lingual.
